Just like the candy, this apple is covered in chocolate, sliced almonds and coconut. With the addition of crunchy apple and sweet chewy caramel, this one is a winner!!
“The Almond Joy” Caramel Apple
- Grandmas Favorite Caramel
- Sliced almonds
- Semi sweet chocolate chips
- Sweetened flaked coconut
- Cleaned apples with sticks inserted
Toast the almonds in a small skillet over medium heat until very lightly golden. Keep and eye on them as the almonds can burn easily. Place on a plate. Toast the coconut in the same pan until golden and add to the plate with the almonds and mix. Dip the apple in the caramel and allow excess to drip off. Immediately roll in the coconut/almond mixture. Place on wax paper or a silicone mat. Melt chocolate and drizzle over apple. Allow chocolate to set and EAT!!
